Black Butte has the morning sun on its face and clouds at its summit. The mountain is a cluster of overlapping dacite lava domes, and the steep face is littered with loose lava rock.
This is a spot I drive by every day, that has been socked in very heavily with fog most days, so much that you can't see anything. Sunday morning on my drive to find some Fall color, the fog from the morning broke just enough, but not all the way. Tops of roofs were steaming, clouds still sitting low and the sun trying its hardest to break through.
